After reaching the mountain top in the music world in Kenya, The Longombas had to make a decision. They made the decision to move to the USA and start a fresh with a new audience and new music.

The Longombas reached the pinnacle of music success in Kenya where they swept one Music Award after another each year since their bursting into the scene in 2004. Their success took them to many parts of Africa including Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa where they were invited by Channel O Television after receiving a whopping 4 Music Awards at the 2006 KISIMA Music Awards.

In 2005 their song Vuta Pumz a social awareness song that teaches people about the dangers of AIDS won a KORA Award in South Africa. The KORA Awards are the equivalent to the American Grammys and recepients of the KORA are regarded in very high esteem in the Music field.

Other Awards that they have received in this short period of time are Chaguo la Teneez (Teen Choice Awards) in Kenya, Pearl Awards in Uganda, Kilimanjaro Award in Tanzania, the Kisima Awards in Kenya and of course the KORA in South Africa.

The Longombas are aware that the move to the USA will not be an easy one since they will be dealing with a totally new audience. But like any great performers, they are ready to take on the challenge.

Lovy has formed a Music production company called Badman Productions www.myspace.com/badmannpro and is currently busy working on the new direction the group is taking. Lovy’s company makes beats from scratch, records, mixes and produces songs for Indie Artistes in the Los Angeles area.

Christian has also formed a Video production company called Badman Visualz www.myspace.com/badmanvisualz where he is busy shooting, editing and producing videos for Independent Artistes in Los Angeles.

Their new album is expected out early 2009 and is highly anticipated by their fans who haven’t heard from them since their move to the USA.
